Starting Out
Okay, I've been doing alot of research into the development of computer games. Computer games aren't thrown together in one simple easy to use program. They are different key elements that are used in the process of game creation. You have the programmers, the 3D artists, the developers, and so on. (I never said this was going to be easy) Anyway, I've decided to start out by learning how to program.
Programming itself isn't easy, you literally have to learn a new language in order to tell the computer what you want it to do. Now, there are many different programs that are used to program (ironic isn't it?) And each program that is out there has its own language. Now we have to choose what program we want to use. Microsoft sells Visual Basic, C++, and Visual C#. NET. Other programs that are out there are: Java SDK, DirectX, Euphoria, and many, many others. So what I'll be doing in the next couple of days is researching these different programs and choosing the best one for me. All of the Microsoft programs are already out of the question because the prices to purchase their product is sky high. So either late today or tomorrow I'll post my choice of program. I recommend you research these products for yourself just so you can see what I'm talking about. Below I have two links, one is a wikipedia page about computer programming, the other is about game programming. Peruse these two pages to get yourself aquainted with what programming is and whatnot.
